THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Procurement Specialist 1, you will be responsible for preparing purchase orders for the Department using statewide contracts for services, such as catering and event planning, in-person interpreters, translations, and others as needed. Additional duties include tracking and purchasing supplies for the Department and preparing purchase orders created for the lowest responsive and responsible bidder(s) for competitive solicitations. in this role, you will use a Commonwealth issued purchasing card to make payments in compliance with Commonwealth policies and procedures while ensuring deliverables are received, accepted, and correctly documented. Effective communication is crucial as you correspond with vendors as necessary regarding quotes, bids, delivery of services and/or supplies, payment, invoicing, and performance concerns.

* Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
* Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
* Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:* One year of experience performing technical purchasing or contract management work; and a bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, project, or operations management, or a related field; or
* An equivalent combination of experience and training.
